Kitchen Volunteering - Every Wed @ 9 AM

Our kitchen at the Club serves terrific food to a large number of members each week. This task requires a lot of prep work to be done so chefs Tanya and Mike can create satisfying dinners to each of our diners.

Every Wednesday morning beginning around 9 AM, a group of members volunteer each week to prepare food to be used by the Club’s kitchen crew. Their service is a tremendous help to the Club and goes a long way with assisting the Club. Some of the prep work they do includes;

  • Peeling and cutting potatoes for the famous RLK Potato Salad

  • Slicing vegetables

  • Preparing schnitzels

  • Eating Food! (Free lunch to those who help)

Volunteering at the Club is crucial to the success of the Reading Liederkranz. As a member club, we do not have the resources of restaurants, breweries, and others so we must rely on the generousity of our members to help push the Club to its full potential.
